Joseph Gaggero CBE passes away in London, aged 84

 - It is with great sadness that the Bland Group announces that Joseph Gaggero, the Honorary President and father of James Gaggero has died. He passed away peacefully in hospital in London on Friday with his family by his side.

Joseph, 84, was an instrumental figure in the Bland Group's history especially through his work at GB Airways, Cadogan Holidays and the Gibraltar and Western Mediterranean businesses. He had a close affection to the businesses and was keen to remain in touch with the activities right up to his unfortunate accident, which resulted in him being in hospital following surgery to his fractured hip.

Born in Gibraltar on November 20 1927 he was awarded the CBE in 1989 and was made a Commander of the Alaouite Order of the Wissam in 2006. He was also a Knight Commander of the Holy Sepulchure (The Vatican).

The funeral will take place on Friday 17th February in Gibraltar.
