Universal Engineering has recently designed and built the best-in-class RANGER armoured vehicle. Already world-leading, the company aims to build a family of RANGER vehicles from 4x4 to 8x8, using the world’s most advanced technology to enhance troop protection. In addition, Universal works closely with a number of UK and international technology manufacturers to introduce new, world-leading technology to the defence sector.

 
In 2009 Griffon Hoverwork built the first prototype of the PACSCAT, a unique hybrid hovercraft/fast-landing craft,  to enable tanks and troops to be carried quickly and safely from ship to shore. To facilitate future oil exploration, Griffon Hoverwork has worked with the oil industry to build hovercraft which can operate in some of the world's most adverse environments including mud flats, marshland and icy terrain. The company is currently developing noise reduction technology and is investing in value engineering across the build process to reduce the cost of building and maintaining hovercraft, whilst improving product quality.

Hovertravel revolutionised its sales system by introducing airline-type ticket technology to the Isle of Wight in 2009, enabling customers to book on line, as well as through self-service ticket kiosks.   

Recent acquisitions by the Bland Group in Gibratar in the security sector, will add a new dimension in delivering  advanced and inovative  solutions to its clients.
