Business Innovation

Bland Group is committed to developing and improving its products and services to meet customer demand and  to add value.  We have evolved our products and services over 200 years.  We consistently strive to improve our methods and practices to ensure we have a portfolio of businesses that are broad in scope and in region of operation.

We have expanded the fields we operate within, venturing into new markets or bringing together companies to create the exact product and service we consider important for our clients. We have developed our companies so that they can cope with the effect of inflation and deflation and ensure they benefit from ring fencing, to provide the necessary stability required to minimise the impact of failure.

At Griffon Hoverwork the client’s specific hovercraft needs lead the highly adaptive design and engineering teams. Our commitment in bringing new innovative products to market are driven by the reality of ever changing global environmental demands. We look to prove why Griffon is the world leader in hovercraft not only through what we build and the pilot qualifications we provide but by listening to what our clients can teach us. From amphibious assault development by Royal Marines to the icebreaking techniques of the Canadian Coast Guard learning how our hovercraft help shape the world makes our amphibious expertise grounded in enthusiasm and reality.

We see technology critical in order to advance our business operations. Our team of software engineers, regularly develop and build custom software that supports the specific requirements we need to improve efficiency.

We thrive on innovation and understand this is an important factor for our customers and we have shown a commitment to listen and respond to their needs in this area. Launching new products and services, such as Access by Blands and LeVoyage indicates, as our history also demonstrates, how we evolve and proactively respond. Creating new services allows us to improve accessibility for all. At Hovertravel we have created the HoverCare initiative, offering extra assistance to customers of reduced mobility or simply for those who need a little extra help with their journey, to ensure a pleasant travel experience for all customers.  Also training our staff to understand and react to different mental & physical needs. The skills we learn as part of this initiative  ensures our customers receive maximum benefit  in all circumstances.

We value our staff and the skills they bring to the organisation. We are conscious that changing the way we work is important to create the right environment and strengthen productivity. One of the initiatives we have developed recently, and which has been nominated for a prestigious award, is our apprenticeship scheme in the UK. We wanted to create a program of succession and development for our future employees from within the company. The scheme provides excellent value to those participating and delivering.  The passion that so many of these individuals have brought to our business, as well as providing additional manpower, means we can provide additional services to our customers and improve their experience.

We consistently develop trusted relationships with our suppliers and other organisations which allow us to create business development opportunities and to expand our portfolio. Most recently, Griffon supplied the first 995ED Hovercraft to the Malaysian Marine Department to be used along their challenging coastline.
