Half a century of golden memories at Hovertravel

Tuesday 4th August 2015 was a very special day at Hovertravel.

Overnight we added a splash of gold to one of our hovercraft, Freedom 90, to add a visual metaphor for our fifty years of continuous operation. We also offered half price travel for ALL customers travelling on Tuesday 4th August and provided a free souvenir official certificate as a keepsake to each and every passenger. As result of this promotion we carried a record number of passengers.

Guests who had submitted memories from the last fifty years of Hovertravel were invited to a special charter which involved a special hovercraft trip on the Solent, complete with expert commentary from one of our pilots. Afterwards these guests enjoyed a vintage-themed afternoon tea, whilst swapping stories about Hovertravel.

For the media who attended the event, this was an exciting opportunity to talk to Hovertravel customers who wanted to share their personal memories of travelling with us.
