Ryde’s newest meeting space, Solent Views, hasadded taste and smell to the list of senses which are wowed by this unique meeting venue. Adding to the sights and sounds of the world’s only year round passenger hovercraft operation which can be viewed through the floor to ceiling windows and heard from the balcony, there will now be an exclusively local catering offering, with all food being sourced from the Isle of Wight.
Loretta Lale, head of commercial at Hovertravel, explained:“We have committed to only offer local produce for clients requesting catering in our Solent Views venue. We hope this practice of using locally-sourced ingredients will give three distinct benefits. Clients will be offering their delegates freshest foods, it supports the local food production economy and delegates will enjoy top class foods that are produced locally.
The Isle of Wight food and drink scene is celebrated nationally and internationally including tomatoes being sold at London’s Borough Market and the makers of Mermaid Gin being recognised around the world for achieving B Corp status.”
To demonstrate Hovertravel partnered with Briddlesford Farm for a recent event at Solent Views where the farm’s diary produce such as their salted butter from their Guernsey herd of cows was very popular.
