ETB's new software to reduce processing times

The Employment and Training Board has implemented new software that will match unemployed individuals to vacancies according to their skill set and the employer’s criteria.

Employment Reporting and Software Management Utility System, created and implemented by Bland Group International, will replace a 20 year-old outdated system that resulted in lengthy processing times.

Neil Costa, Minister for Employment, said that the previous system relied on the memory of individuals to match people to potential jobs.

“Programming and digitisation will really take us a step forward in the quality of the service that we provide,” he said. “Now it will be much less likely that job seekers will fall through the cracks.”

Mr Costa said that the program will automatically notify ETB workers of new jobs and provide a list of suitable individuals based on their skills and suitability for the role.
