Recognising our rising stars at Skybreak
In recognition of both National Apprenticeship Week and International Women’s Day on Friday 8th March, Skybreak have celebrated some of the achievements of its young female agents, who have come through the apprenticeship scheme.
An alternative route to a university education, Both Naomi Chisholm and Bethan Clawson have excelled in their success through the scheme. Beth, who started with Skybreak in 2017, achieved a Distinction in the Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship standard.
In Beth’s own words, “This was very rewarding and I am very proud of myself for receiving the highest grade possible”. Beth was one of the first students to go through such an assessment with Skybreak, whilst it wasn’t without its challenges, Beth’s progress was outstanding.
Beth’s external assessment was split into three components;

The distinction indicated that Beth exceeded the requirements in regards to knowledge, skills and behaviours within the apprenticeship standard.
Naomi also joined Skybreak on an apprenticeship scheme, and is now one of the Assistant Team Leaders. We asked Naomi to share her story and this is what she had to say about her career journey:
“I have 10 GCSE’s and three A-levels and prior to joining Skybreak worked at Sainsburys for a year. I had wanted to work at Gatwick since I was little and being able to join an apprenticeship at Skybreak meant I could gain a qualification and gain experience working at the airport. Through my development at Skybreak I have developed knowledge of our product and services, learned how to manage our airline clients and work with the team leader to ensure the smooth running of our day-to-day operation. I am now in a position where I can pass the benefits of my own experience on to others as I am also involved in the mentoring of new apprentices coming into the company, and hopefully helping them to develop their own successful career paths".
Skybreak are proud of both Beth and Naomi, just two of many who have completed the scheme and who represent successful young women making a career in the travel and tourism industry.
On behalf of Bland Group, we would like to thank Beth, Naomi and all our customer service agents who have worked hard to complete this structured training programme which provides a real opportunity to put skills into practice from the start. Each of our apprentices have become an important part of our Group to deliver high quality service to the customers of Skybreak.
Are you interested in joining our team as an Apprentice? If so, we currently have a vacancy for a Customer Service Agent at Skybreak. Click
