Skybreak organises day out for St Barnabas House Hospice

Skybreak’s Your Service Centre at Gatwick Airport organised an extra special day trip for St Barnabas House Hospice in Worthing, West Sussex. As part of Skybreak's commitment to dedicate time and resources to supporting local charities, the team planned a day out for the family support group and accompanied them on their excursion.

The group met at Southsea for the ten minute hovercraft journey to Ryde, on the Isle of Wight and were transported from Ryde to Osborne House, Queen Victoria’s Island retreat on an open-top double decker bus from Southern Vectis. They also had an opportunity to wander around the extensive grounds and house of this award winning English Heritage site before returning via Hovertravel.

Neil Francis, Community Fundraising Manager at St Barnabas House Hospice, said: 'The group had a fantastic day. Thank you so much from us all here for your support and kindness. They felt extremely welcome and looked after throughout.'

Lecia Taylor Director at Skybreak added: 'We are really keen to use our staff's skills in arranging travel to help out locally and give something back to our community. This involved a trip on Europe's only passenger hovercraft, a scenic open top bus journey and a tour of Queen Victoria's holiday home; all planned to give a great day out to the hospice and we felt privileged to be able to play a small part in supporting the families of St Barnabas. Our team are eager to be involved in the local community so we allow them time off for this type of activity.'

Skybreak was able to arrange this outing thanks to the generosity of Hovertravel and Southern Vectis.
